PDA assessment
Municipalities use special investigating officers (BOAs) who process personal data in the course of their work. These processing operations fall under the Police Data Act (Wet politiegegevens or the Wpg). The BOAs are employed by the municipality, making a municipality responsible for complying with the Wpg (PDA).
Police Data Act
Under the regime of the Police Data Act, those responsible for processing (usually the employer of the BOAs) are required to have a periodic privacy audit conducted, followed by an annual internal privacy audit and an external privacy audit once every four years. This privacy audit is conducted through an IT audit.
PDA assessment process
A Wpg audit focuses on the processing of personal data under the regime of the PDA. The report is to be sent to the Personal Data Authority (initially short form and possibly on request a long form with more detail) on the design and existence of measures and procedures to safeguard the legal requirements and their application in continuity (the operation).
We have extensive knowledge of privacy audits and specifically knowledge of processing under the regime of police data. Our extensive experience enables us to properly assess the risks in PII processing, so that an appropriate picture can be reported to the Personal Data Authority.

The “Short” form rapport
